British Newspapers 1800 to 1900 Online
The blogs (Eastman's and Anglo-Celtic Connections) report that a selection of 19th century British newspapers are online at http://newspapers.bl.uk/blcs. This is a joint venture of the British Library, Gale and Cengage Learning. There are 49 newspapers covering both London and the regions, including Scotland and Ireland, and the range of years for each title varies. You require a subscription to see the full text of everything except Penny Illustrated Paper and The Graphic. You can, however, search for free and see a small window of text that includes your search term that will help you determine whether the article is relevant.
